Overview[]
The AK-74 is one of the best assault rifles from the AK series in the game. It features good and balanced statistics in most regards, with decent capabilities at all ranges, though it does perform best at mid-range. Compared to weapons like the M4A1 Custom and the IWI X95-R, the AK-74 features a slower fire-rate in exchange for higher damage-per-shot. This makes the AK-74 slightly better at ammunition conservation in comparison to these weapons, but also slightly worse at close encounters.
The most distinctive advantage of the AK-74 is its superb reload capabilities; despite the fact that its statistics display a moderate reload speed, the AK-74 is one of two weapons in the game alongside the PP-19-01 Vityaz-SN SMG which features a double-magazine. The first reload is very fast, whereas the second reload is slower, and the pattern repeats (i.e. the third reload is very fast, the fourth reload is slower, etc).
W-Task[]
The W-Task for this weapon is 175 Longshots. After getting 175 Longshots with the AK-74 you have the option of changing it into the AK-74 VDV. The VDV has a Nit-A collimator which has a medium to high magnification and adds 5 points of accuracy while taking away 3 recoil and 4 mobility.

- The AK-74 in game uses double mags, one mag is the original wood brown 30-round laminated magazine while the other one strapped to it is the new standard polymer black magazine for the AK-74M and AK-105.
- Even though the AK-74 is a standard length AR it has the same range as the AK-105 in-game.
