"M4A1 Custom is a serious modification of the classic M4 for close combat. UBR buttstock developed by Magpul, balanced mechanics by LWRS, RIS fore grip from TROY, Daniel Defense rear sight and tactical grip from Zenith. With all these modifications, it makes the M4 an even more dangerous weapon in the hands of a professional."
- — Description.
The M4A1 Custom is a tier 4 assault rifle.
The M4A1 is an excellent choice for mid-range combat, and with an above-average rate of fire for an assault rifle (which makes up for the somewhat low damage and accuracy), the M4A1 can be decent in short-ranged combat.
The M4A1 was one of the first guns to have customization added. However, since the new customization, the visual recoil made the weapon more difficult to use in ADS mode.
With the W-Task, this weapon can even be used to compete with GP weapon users. Be sure to either repair this weapon often or purchase a permanent repair as the M4's high rate of fire can be punishing.
To achieve the longshots needed for the W-Task, you can either aim down your sights and burstfire, or you can hip-fire and shoot as long as your crosshairs do not expand. As with any weapon, aim for the head.
To acquire the W-Task for the M4A1, one must achieve 150 longshots with the weapon. The M4A1 with the W-Task equipped is renamed to the M4A1 SpecOps, which will add the SWR Spectre silencer and Micro H1 red dot sight. Completing the W-Task also unlocks customization for the M4A1 Custom. See M4A1 Custom/Customization for more information.
